what the fuck, xiaxue?
Tuesday, 3 May 2011

xiaxue made me revive my blog which has been dead for a year. she didn't inspire me to blog. she infuriated me enough to create a blog entry to specifically target her.

she probably won't read this, but i'd like to give my two cents' worth anyway.

let's talk about her post on LKY's facebook page. if you don't know what's going on, read it here:https://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=10150174720218533

you're judging the population's level of respect for LKY just from some numbers? you don't judge people from the number of friends they have on facebook. how is the number of likes on LKY's facebook page related to the level of respect singaporeans have for him?

so what if there're more likes on nicole seah's facebook page as compared to LKY's? it probably means that she's popular among the younger generation. please remember that many of our parents and grandparents are not facebook users. it doesn't mean that they don't respect LKY.

i'm not defending nicole seah and you don't have to speculate which side i'm on. i support the opposition, but i know that the parliament needs to have PAP around to function too. i have great admiration towards nicole seah, but it doesn't mean that i don't hold any respect towards LKY.

similarly, those who do not vote for PAP are not being ungrateful. let's face it, the GE is a policy contest. voters will pick whichever party which proposes policies which appeal to them. respect (or the lack thereof) isn't relevant.

stop accusing singaporeans of being thankless and disrespectful. people don't have to like LKY's facebook page to show respect for him. judging people's attitude towards singapore's founding father through some facebook statistics won't put you in a good light either. RESPECT COMES FROM THE HEART, NOT FROM SOME NUMBERS.

xiaxue, please go and reflect before posting such cringe-worthy content.
